India’s Olympic Dream

India a big home of more than 1.2 billion people and have many talented sports personals and coaches to bring more and more medals in an Olympic event but unfortunately in the Rio Olympic from 6 to 21 August 2016 India got only two medals one silver and one bronze. We are very happy to get two medals from this grand sports event and celebrate whole night for two medals. We proud of our two women medalist P.V. Sindhu and Sakshi Malik for their achievement in grand event and many state governments announce monetary support to them.
I want to ask some questions to you. First, having more than 1.2 billion people, why did India got only two Olympic medal in Rio Olympic 2016? Second, after 70 years of independence India is still single digit Olympic medal,  when does India get two digit medal in Olympic? Third, in 2016 budget more than 1590 core was allocated, Is this enough for sports in India having more than 1.2 billion people. And finally,Is this final solution to giving monetary support or giving jog securities to Olympic or any other medalist in our country for improvement of sports in world class?
We know that Indian Olympic Association sent 117 athletes in Rio Olympic 2016 and it was largest delegates since independence and we hope more atheletes in next Olympic. The ratio between athlete and medal is very low for India. How do we increase our medal in Olympic is a big Challenge. I want to give answer of my first question, India’s Olympic atheletes were not well prepared for challenge the world class atheletes. Because there were Lack of monetary support, lack of infrastructure, lack of sports equipment etc. could not produce full potential fo an athlete. There are many talented atheletes in India but they did not found out by state government or sports authorities and our atheletes did not come out for India because they did not secure their life in the sports.
Second, India double digit Olympic medal dream is not possible until and unless we do not change the policy and programs in sports. The state government responsible for development of sports is very important to bring a great sports environment in a county. How the state government take initiative for increasing the people to participate  in sports is most important.
Third, India’s annual expenditure in sports is very low as compare to other countries, India must increase their monetary support to thier states as well as atheletes.
Finally, the system of giving monetary reward to only medalist is need to change to bring more and more medal in an Olympic, If the monetary reward is given to the atheletes before entering their world class challenges they can used the money for more improvement in their field, it can fight better in the ring rather then waiting to loss in the ring, many of India’s atheletes do not have enough money to reach their Olympic dream.
We Indians have the potential to get two digit medal in Olympic, we need is only change the symtem of funding, exploring the talented atheletes, and more and more participation of state government in the development of sports.
